Just a mini post as I had to share the news that today we had Bibbity & Boo to visit! Can you imagine how happy I was?! That means that the only one we haven't seen since leaving home is Ibbity who was the first to go. I hope he / she is OK out there in the big wide world.
sigh . . . happiness is . . . peace for all
ReplyDeleteWonderful stuff!

How could they possibly resist coming back to all those good vibes !!
ReplyDeleteJust as a matter of interest, at what age did Chalk and Cheese start to fly ? (Just wondering how much longer I'll have the company of my rescued muscovey : currently 11 weeks old and getting very independent, and working really hard at trying to take off).
Thanks so much for more good reads.
Max.
Mayo - I've clipped their wings as they aren't wild birds, not like the recued Mallards, so I'm not sure. I don't think Cheese the male would get far because he's so big & heavy! Chalk still tries to take off though bless her. I've heard that when they do fly they do not necessarily fly away from home - just around & about. I hope you don't mind him / her sticking around if that's true! Have you enjoyed the experience? I absolutely love my Muscovies to pieces. Amazing ducks :-D
ReplyDeleteI love ducks. I'm allergic to duck eggs but it doesn't stop me pining for a couple of 'em in the garden. I'm told the boys don't make much noise, not nearly as much as hens, and that female ducks are noisier than cockerels. So I've said I really, really want to have a couple of boy ducks to keep the slugs down as the hens don't seem to like them (though they like snails). I've even got names for the boy ducks we don't have! In my head they're called Bert and Ernie. Well. Like the Sesame Street characters, and like us, two boys live together, people are gonna talk.... >;-)
